Assistant Program Director

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Program Director to lead a dynamic clinical team and bring an energetic, positive approach while working with our students at the Susan Wayne Center of Excellence (SWCE) and River Run Academy. These programs offer intensive residential, educational, medical, and clinical services for adolescent boys and girls who are mild to moderately cognitively impaired with concurrent behavioral, mental health, and medical issues. Our students have often experienced complex trauma and require additional support in the classroom, as well as with emotional and behavioral difficulties, executive functioning, and life skills.

Located in rural Thompson, Connecticut, our state-of-the-art campus provides warm, home-like facilities in a pastoral setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Director in providing oversight and leadership to staff, including residential, clinical, and nursing services, ensuring youth receive state-of-the-art, trauma-informed care.
• Provide leadership toward the program’s mission and vision, and directly supervise SWCE’s Administrative Team, including Clinical, Residential, and Nursing Directors.
• Oversee the provision of all services to youth and families, including residential, educational, and clinical services.
• Manage the operations of all client services and support as set forth by licensing and regulatory partners.
• Transport students as required.
• Work evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts as needed.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least five years’ experience in a residential treatment program for the population served, with at least three years at the supervisor/management level.
• Experience overseeing and managing multiple departments and/or systems.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and leadership abilities.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $48,000 to $103,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications.
