About the role

The successful candidate will be expected to sustain a significant, ongoing research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publication in the field of technical communication. The candidate will also teach in the M.A. in Technical Communication Program and in our growing undergraduate technical communication offerings. Additional duties include significant participation in, and contributions to the continued development of, graduate and undergraduate programs in technical communication.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the M.A. in Technical Communication Program and in our growing undergraduate technical communication offerings.
  • Significant participation in, and contributions to, the continued development of, graduate and undergraduate programs in technical communication.
  • Teaching load of 2/2 in the first two years, transitioning to 3/3 in the third year and beyond, with some opportunities for course load reduction.
  • Course offerings typically include a mixture of face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Technical Communication or a related field by the start date of the appointment.
  • Strong record of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications.
  • Experience teaching technical communication at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of both graduate and undergraduate technical communication programs.
