About the role

The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) at the University at Buffalo (UB), The State University of New York (SUNY), invites candidates to apply for an Assistant Professor faculty position as a Simons Empire Faculty Fellow. The successful candidate is expected to build a strong research and educational program that exemplifies a commitment towards team research, generates impactful research publications, attracts significant public and private research funding, and that demonstrates a dedication to effective teaching.

Responsibilities

Research topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Quantum sensing based upon different physical realizations of entangled states
  • Next-generation atomic clocks
  • Quantum magnetometry
  • Gravitational and inertial sensing
  • Quantum sensors for biomedical applications
  • Integration and miniaturization of quantum devices and circuits
  • Error correction and noise mitigation
  • Fundamental physics tests

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field. Ph.D. must be completed by start of appointment, or evidence presented that all requirements for degree conferral have been met.
