Clemson University: College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences: Psychology Location BRACKETT HALL (000030) BLDG000030 Open Date Aug 25, 2026 Description We are seeking a productive researcher in human factors or engineering psychology. The research area is open, with possible areas of expertise including applied cognition, decision making, surface transportation, automation/AI, ergonomics, UI/UX Design, perception, action, and performance. Successful candidates will be expected to mentor graduate students in our Human Factors Psychology doctoral program. Clemson University is a Carnegie R1 institution that is currently No. 30 in the US News and World Report ranking of the nation’s top public universities. The campus is located in the upstate of South Carolina near outstanding year-round recreational opportunities, including nearby lakes and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Department of Psychology is a research-oriented department with 35 full-time faculty, 1100 undergraduate majors, and 50 graduate students (http://www.clemson.edu/cbshs/departments/psychology/). We currently have PhD programs in Human Factors Psychology (HF), Health Psychology, and Industrial-Organizational Psychology (I-O), as well as an MS program in Applied Psychology. In general, we are seeking individuals who are dedicated to moving the department and university forward. Qualifications The ideal candidates will have a strong research record that will be extramurally supported, and a commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education.
