About the Role
The Department of Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time tenure-eligible or tenure-track Investigator at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will be housed within the Department of Surgery at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago with cross-functional responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with surgeon-scientists on growing and supporting Departmental federally funded research studies with a strong component of health services and outcomes research.
- Develop and sustain ongoing collaborative relationships with research leadership throughout the department and the university.
Qualifications
- PhD in epidemiology, data science, public health, physiology, or similar degree path.
- Expertise in or a desire to work with surgeon-scientists to create solutions with broad applicability.
- Postdoctoral fellowship strongly preferred.
- Track record of funding.
Skills
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: health care outcomes, real-world outcomes, surgical outcomes, cost-effectiveness research, data science, long-term outcome research, use of EHR and other “big data” sources, and interest in advanced statistical methods.
Pay
The expected base pay range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, with annual merit increases dictated by performance.
