Assistant Professor - Pediatrics

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Director of Translational Research and Developmental Therapeutics at the Four Diamond Childhood Cancer Research Center at Penn State University College of Medicine, Hershey, PA, seeks an Assistant Professor. The position focuses on epigenetics and 3D chromatin organization, studying the molecular mechanisms that regulate malignant transformation and cellular proliferation in leukemia, with a particular interest in epigenetics' role in cellular multiplication and immortalization.

A typical project involves analyzing epigenomic regulation of gene expression in normal and malignant cells using techniques such as ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, CUT&Tag, RNA-SEQ, ATAC-seq, GRO-seq, Hi-C, Hi-ChIP, 3-C, and 4-C. The salary is determined by institutional guidelines and supported by various grants.

• Experience with ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, CUT&Tag, RNA-SEQ, ATAC-seq, GRO-seq, Hi-C, Hi-ChIP, 3-C, 4-C etc. in normal and malignant cells is required.
• The successful candidate must be motivated, independent, and highly organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A PhD in hand by the start date is required.
