About the role

The Assistant Professor of Reading and Elementary Education will lead innovative curriculum development and instructional strategies that enhance student learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective reading and elementary education curricula
• Conduct research and publish findings in academic journals
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching methods and educational programs
• Supervise and mentor graduate students in their teaching practicums
• Participate in departmental and university committees

Requirements

• A PhD in Reading and Elementary Education or a related field
• Proven track record of successful teaching and research
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to continuous professional development
• Ability to teach a range of courses including literacy instruction, classroom management, and educational psychology
• Knowledge of current educational theories and practices
