About the Program
The Trinity College Public Policy and Law Program is an interdisciplinary program that unites policy analysis and legal studies to examine critical societal issues. Located in Hartford, Connecticut, Trinity is a highly selective, independent, nonsectarian liberal arts institution with a rigorous academic profile and a vibrant co-curricular program. About the Role
The program seeks a tenure-track assistant professor with a focus on health policy, broadly defined to include policy domains that shape health or health equity. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach advanced undergraduate courses in their area of research expertise, courses on health policy, and an introduction to US public policy.
Responsibilities
- Teach a 2/2 course load for the first two years (3/2 thereafter).
- Develop and teach advanced undergraduate courses in health policy and related research areas.
- Teach an introduction to US public policy.
- Mentor undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Pursue scholarly research with the support of start-up funds, annual research funds, and conference travel funds.
- Participate in a one-semester research leave every fourth year.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Public Policy, Sociology, Economics, Public Health, Health Policy, or a related field must be in hand by August 2027.
- Evidence of scholarly promise and teaching effectiveness.
- Commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds.
