Assistant Professor of Practice

About the role

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track restricted position with a 9-month academic appointment beginning in August 2027. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Assistant Professor of Practice. Duties will include the teaching of classes at the undergraduate and graduate level. Other duties will include participation in departmental committees and activities and advising and mentoring students.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in accounting or relevant field, or a master’s degree in accounting and a CPA (or other relevant professional) license with equivalent years of accounting-related work experience at the time of application.
• This position will primarily be responsible for teaching courses in taxation.
• Significant teaching and/or professional experience in taxation is required.

Qualifications
