Assistant Professor of Instruction - Psychology
About the role
The Department of Psychology at the University of South Florida, Tampa Campus seeks to fill a continuing 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction position to begin on August 7, 2026. Salary for 9-month appointment is $60,000, with the potential for additional compensation for summer teaching assignments. A review of applications will begin on November 7, 2025. Applications received after November 7, 2025 may be reviewed and advanced, in cases of compelling merit, up to the conclusion of the search process.
Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of undergraduate courses (four courses in the fall; four courses in the spring)
- Provide additional departmental service
- Teach courses such as Perception, Cognitive Psychology, Physiological Psychology, Research Methods in Psychology, Experimental Design and Analysis, and Introduction to Psychological Science
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology or a related discipline from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated record of achievement in undergraduate teaching and departmental service
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction
- Applications from individuals who are ABD will be accepted, but the degree must be conferred by appointment start date
