The University of Virginia School of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism (Department of Medicine), seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor of Medicine position on the Tenure-Ineligible Clinical Faculty Track.

About the role

The successful candidate will provide clinical care for various endocrine disorders, including bone, mineral, diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, gonadal, and pituitary. Care will be provided primarily at UVA Endocrinology/Diabetes and local UVA outreach clinics. The position requires a strong commitment to medical education and scholarship/quality improvement.

The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is a collegial and collaborative team with a rich tradition of excellence in research, patient care, and education. The Division includes 32 faculty members (six full professors, eight associate professors, nine assistant professors, eleven nurse practitioners, and nine emeritus professors) and six endocrine fellows. Faculty members have held leadership roles in national professional societies, including former presidents of the Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association, Pituitary Society, and American Society of Bone and Mineral Research.

Qualifications

  • M.D. degree or equivalent
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine
  • ABIM board-eligible or certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism by the appointment start date
  • Experience in bone disorders will be prioritized
