Position Summary

The Teacher Education Program (TEP) prepares teachers of quality and distinction. Faculty and administrators collaborate to improve learning in classrooms across elementary, secondary, and higher education. The Assistant Professor will join a growing program focused on integrating technology and serving a diverse student population.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Teacher Education at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Supervise student teachers and practicum students
  • Advise Students
  • Participate in peer-reviewed scholarly activity (publications, grants, etc.)
  • Collaborate with faculty in assessment, recruitment, and retention activities of the program
  • Service to the college, university, and community

Qualifications

  • "ABD" in area, with the expectation of completing a doctoral degree within a year of hire
  • Educational training related to preparing future PK-12 teachers
  • Hold or be eligible for a teaching license in a PK-12 content area
  • ECE teaching experience
  • Evidence of scholarly activity
  • Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D)
  • Education training in early childhood education (ECE)
  • PK-12 and higher ed. teaching experiences in ECE and other domains of education
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly activity
