About the role

Penn State Berks (Reading, PA) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity, beginning August 2027. Penn State Berks, a college of The Pennsylvania State University, offers the collegiality of a small college with the strength of a well-respected research university.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Cybersecurity Forensics, Incident Response, and Software Security
  • Teach in a new Artificial Intelligence major anticipated to be available at PSU Berks College in the next few years (formal background in AI is desirable)
  • Carry a teaching load of nine contact hours (approximately three courses) per semester
  • Conduct robust research that leads to publications in scholarly journals
  • Advise students
  • Provide service to the program, division, college, community, and profession
  • Engage in active and collaborative learning, including undergraduate research
  • Commit to supporting diverse learners in the classroom
  • Serve local students and engage with the community

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a closely related field with a focus on Cybersecurity by August 15, 2027
