Assistant Professor of Corporate Finance
San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business, Department of Finance, invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in corporate finance, international finance, investments, and related fields. The anticipated start date is Fall 2027. Review of applications begins immediately and continues until the positions are filled.
About the role
The successful candidates will be expected to develop a vigorous, independent program of research and scholarship, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and contribute to campus and professional service activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct original research and publish in scholarly journals
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in corporate finance, international finance, investments, and related fields
- Engage in departmental, college, and university service
- Foster connections with the business community
- Direct undergraduate and graduate student research
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field (all degree requirements must be completed by the date of hire)
- Demonstrated capacity for original research and scholarly accomplishments
- Demonstrated or planned commitment to at least two of the university’s “Building on Inclusive Excellence” criteria
Preferred Qualifications
- Record of publications, presentations, and/or funding
- University-level teaching experience
- Commitment to collegiality, transparency, and shared governance
- Experience working with the business community

Pay
The anticipated salary range is $145,000 to $158,000, based on the current CSU salary schedule. Salary placement will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience, and may exceed the published maximum in limited circumstances.
