This is a 12-month, full-time, in-person position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice within the School of Nursing at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida.
About the Role
Join a rapidly growing MSN Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program as the FNP Program Director. This non-tenure eligible position involves teaching in classroom and clinical settings on the Pensacola campus and at local community partner locations. The role may also include teaching assignments in other School of Nursing programs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the FNP Program Director for the MSN FNP program.
- Teach in classroom and clinical settings on the Pensacola campus and at local community partner locations.
- May be assigned to teach in other School of Nursing programs as needed.
Requirements
- Earned a doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing, education, or a health-related field from an accredited institution.
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Unrestricted Florida license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or eligibility for licensure in Florida.
- Active Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Three years of work experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in nursing education or healthcare.
- Familiarity with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials and National Task Force recommendations.
- Knowledge and understanding of the FNP certification test plans.
