About the role
The University of Miami Health System is recruiting a Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases physician to join the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Division in conjunction with the Miami Transplant Institute and the Antibiotic Stewardship Program.
Essential Job Functions
- Care of pediatric patients referred to the Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Supervise and teach fellows, residents and medical students.
- Provide mentorship for quality assurance and research projects.
- Conduct on-call duties shared with other members of the division's faculty.
- Conduct basic, translational, clinical research to develop publications and grant submissions.
- Work with the Miami Transplant Institute to provide pre-and post-transplant evaluations, inpatient consultation and outpatient care for pediatric transplant patients.
- Hold the administrative title of associate director for the Pediatric Antibiotic Stewardship Program and serve as the representative for the Pediatric Infection Control Program.
Qualifications
- MD/DO degree required.
- Board eligible or Board certified in Pediatric Infectious Disease.
- Demonstrated proficiency to perform research (clinical/basic/translational) and evidence of research success.
- Pediatric Transplant Infectious Disease Fellowship experience.
- Experience in Infection Control and Antibiotic Stewardship programs.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the teaching of students and housestaff.
- Valid Medical License in the State of Florida and a valid DEA license.
