About the role

The Mrs. T.H. Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California invites applications for a full-time 12-month clinical faculty position. The successful candidate will work with the Division's current faculty members to create and teach course work in the entry-level occupational therapy doctorate (OTD) program focused on mental health practice, with particular attention to critical approaches and linkages to sanism and Mad Studies.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and mentor graduate students
  • Collaborate on curriculum development to strengthen mental health, mad studies and anti-ableism/sanism content throughout the e-OTD curriculum
  • Engage in scholarship related to work in the Division and in the profession
  • Serve on committees as assigned or requested

Requirements

  • Earned terminal degree (O.T.D., or Ph.D. in occupational science preferred)
  • Experience teaching graduate course work in occupational therapy
  • Lived experience of mental illness or identification with Mad communities
  • Current OT license and eligibility to practice occupational therapy in California
  • Additional certifications may include peer provider or psychiatric rehabilitation
  • Experience in course and/or curriculum development and interests in mad studies, critical psychiatry preferred
  • Doctoral work completed within the mental health practice space

Qualifications

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000.
