About the Role
The Hospitalist Clinician-Educator Track position involves providing direct inpatient medical care to adult patients on medical and surgical services, as well as inpatient and outpatient medical consultation. This role includes educating medical students, residents, and fellows, and leading an educational or administrative project within the division.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to adult non-surgical hospitalized patients
- Consult for hospitalized patients on any service
- Coordinate internal medicine subspecialty care
- Provide telephone consultation for non-service unit patients
- Participate in quality improvement activities
- Engage in committee work
- Educate medical students, residents, and fellows
- Lead academic projects in education, quality and safety, or division/departmental administration
Requirements
- Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency
- Valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligibility to apply
Skills
- Maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements
- Excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe, quality patient care
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff, patients, and family members
- Demonstrated ability to meet the responsibilities of the position
Working Conditions
- Work on weekends, nights, and holidays based on division needs
- Must be physically responsive when on-call
