Teaching
- Develop and facilitate core curriculum conferences for the FCM residency program on the integration of oral health and primary care.
- Serve as a mentor for dental students and residents who rotate through the Quincy or Pike County site.
- Supervise dental students in the provision of care to patients.
Research/ Academic Activities
- Attend professional meetings in field to keep abreast of new developments and treatments.
Service
- Provide direct dental services to patients of the SIU CFM dental clinics in Adams and Pike Counties.
- Supervise dental hygienist and dental assistants in the provision of dental care to patients.
- Demonstrate, by actions, commitment to the mission and the behavioral standards of SIU School of Medicine.
- Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers through collaboration and partnership; compassion and respect; integrity and accountability; diversity and inclusion; as well as continuous learning and improvement.
Administration
- Maintain effective relationships with community providers in sites where dental care is provided to enhance services and outcomes for patients, ensuring coordination of care with community resources.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory entities' standards; ensure quality patient care and appropriate provider productivity.
- Serve as member of the Management Team and the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee.
- Attend faculty meetings and core conferences as requested.
Qualifications
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority and low income populations.
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery or Doctorate of Dental Medicine or in the pursuit of such.
- Licensed/License Eligible to Practice Dentistry in the State of Illinois.
