The UTMB Department of Radiology invites applications from fellowship-trained, board-certified or board-eligible cardiothoracic imaging radiologists to join our growing academic faculty.

We welcome candidates at all career stages — from early-career radiologists seeking a strong academic foundation to experienced faculty ready to lead.

UTMB is also able to assist foreign medical graduates in pursuing certification by the American Board of Radiology.

Essential Job Functions

The Practice

UTMB Radiology is a vibrant, collegial academic practice operating across four hospital campuses in the Houston–Galveston corridor, including our flagship John Sealy Hospital in Galveston — a Level I trauma center — and community hospitals in League City and Clear Lake.

Our cardiothoracic imaging section works with state-of-the-art technology including 1.5T and 3.0T MRI, multidetector CT, and photon-counting CT.

Our department trains 8 diagnostic radiology residents per year and hosts multiple subspecialty fellowship programs, giving faculty meaningful daily opportunities for case-based teaching, mentorship, and educational engagement.

Faculty benefit from close collaboration with subspecialty colleagues across a true academic medical center, with the depth of institutional infrastructure — including research support, GME infrastructure, and administrative resources — that a standalone community practice cannot offer.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Radiology
• Fellowship training in cardiothoracic imaging
• Certificate of Added Qualification in Cardiac CT
• Valid Texas Medical License, or ability to obtain prior to start
• Authorization to work in the United States
