About the role
The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Architectural and Engineering Technology (AET) starting in the Fall 2026. The position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage, Alaska.
Responsibilities
- Experience in online course development and teaching experience
- Demonstrated experience with community business outreach
- Teaching department courses in building technology and/or architectural structures
- Teach courses that integrate sustainable building principles and AI methods
- Work effectively with a diverse student body and community
- Teach courses in construction processes and procedures
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Design, or related field
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in the architectural drafting/technology field or as a licensed/registered architect
- Experience with circumpolar construction conditions and techniques
- Minimum of two (2) semesters of teaching experience at the college level or equivalent
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of the construction process, procedures, and industry
- Expertise in contemporary technologies, computational design methods, and interdisciplinary collaborations
Skills
- Ability to teach courses in building technology and architectural structures
- Familiarity with circumpolar construction conditions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
