About the role

The Assistant Professor of Agroforestry will lead research and teaching initiatives focused on sustainable agricultural practices that integrate trees into farming systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on agroforestry practices and their impact on environmental sustainability and economic viability.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in agroforestry, sustainable agriculture, and related fields.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local farmers and community organizations to support agroforestry adoption.
  • Participate in university committees and professional organizations relevant to agroforestry.

Requirements

  • A PhD in Agroforestry, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in conducting research and teaching in agroforestry.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to secure external funding for research projects.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in agroforestry techniques and their implementation.
  • Knowledge of sustainable land management practices.
  • Experience in community engagement and outreach.
