Assistant Professor of Agroforestry
About the role
The Assistant Professor of Agroforestry will lead research and teaching initiatives focused on sustainable agricultural practices that integrate trees into farming systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on agroforestry practices and their impact on environmental sustainability and economic viability.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in agroforestry, sustainable agriculture, and related fields.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local farmers and community organizations to support agroforestry adoption.
- Participate in university committees and professional organizations relevant to agroforestry.
Requirements
- A PhD in Agroforestry, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Experience in conducting research and teaching in agroforestry.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to secure external funding for research projects.
Qualifications
- Expertise in agroforestry techniques and their implementation.
- Knowledge of sustainable land management practices.
