About the Role

The Department of Film, Animation and New Media in the College of Arts and Letters is seeking a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of 3D Animation and Game Development to teach classes including 3D Animation, Modeling, Rigging, and XR/AR/VR Development.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 3 courses (12 credit hours) per semester over two 15-week semesters per academic year
  • Teach undergraduate and possibly graduate courses

Qualifications

  • Hold a terminal degree such as an MFA, MPS, or PhD by time of appointment
  • Must be able to work legally in the USA by August 1st, 2027
  • Strong background with industry standard 3D Tools such as Maya, Blender, Z-Brush, etc.
  • Working knowledge of game engines such as Unreal Engine and/or Unity
  • Experience with blueprints and other programming or scripting languages is highly desirable
  • Must demonstrate potential for outstanding teaching
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to high academic standards
