Assistant Professor in Developmental Psychology

About the role

The Carleton Psychology Department is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Developmental Psychology to begin September 1, 2027. The ideal candidate will teach five courses per year in Carleton’s trimester system and work with undergraduate students in their research program.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory psychology, psychological data analysis (statistics), mid-level courses in developmental psychology and a related subfield (e.g., multicultural, personality, or social psychology)
• Teach research laboratory classes that include methods instruction and hands-on demonstrations
• Teach upper-level seminar(s) in their area of expertise
• Work with undergraduate students in their research program

Requirements

• A completed Ph.D. in psychology is preferred, but applicants who will complete their Ph.D. by September 2027 will be considered
• Candidates committed to teaching a student body with different backgrounds and perspectives
