Assistant Professor - Hospitalist

About the role

We are seeking dynamic and motivated Hospitalist Faculty to join the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. This unique academic position offers the opportunity to work in a leading‑edge quaternary‑care referral center—Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH), a Level One trauma center recognized nationally for excellence across numerous specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to patients in a hospital setting.
• May be involved with the clinical rating of medical students and residents.
• Collaborate with nursing, office staff, and administration in patient care.
• Collaborate with faculty peers, nursing, and support staff.
• Participate in academic, clinical, and research activities as needed.
• Participate in education evaluation and career development of students, residents, fellows, and staff.
• Serve on committees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by the Division Chief and/or Department Chair.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD, MB, or MBBA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Hospital Medicine experience in an academic setting working with residents and fellows.
• Location: Norfolk, Virginia, USA.
