About the role

The department of Accounting at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) seeks a tenure-track faculty member in the Nazarian College of Business and Economics at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities

• Teach Taxation and related fields.
• Maintain an ongoing program of scholarship in Taxation.
• Attend faculty meetings.
• Participate in assessment of student learning.
• Engage in service to the department, college, and university.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting or related field from an AACSB-accredited institution.
• Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) in Taxation or a related field from an ABA-accredited institution.
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited institution, coupled with an LLM in Taxation from an ABA accredited institution or a Master's in Taxation (or Accounting) from an AACSB-accredited institution, along with a CPA credential or significant accounting work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant prior professional work experience in the field, preferably in taxation.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent (EA) by the time of the appointment.
• Evidence of effective engagement or potential to engage with and mentor a diverse student body.
• Experience creating a student-centered learning environment, including active and interactive learning.
• Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy.
