Tenure-line faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to begin Fall Term 2027 in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at the University of Puget Sound, an undergraduate liberal arts college.

Responsibilities

  • Teach foundational chemistry courses and advanced courses in Inorganic or Physical chemistry.
  • Maintain an active research program involving undergraduates.
  • Teach both lecture and laboratory-based classes (class sizes: 10–40 students).
  • Standard teaching load of 3 units each semester.
  • Supervise undergraduate research, advise students, and participate in departmental and university governance.

Requirements

  • PhD in chemistry or a closely related field.
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, liberal arts education, and research with undergraduates.

  • Salary range for Assistant Professors in 2026–2027: $75,820 (first-year, post-doctorate) to $86,652 (based on experience).
