About the Role

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates must be boarded in Pathology (CP-only or AP/CP), board-eligible in Transfusion Medicine, and must have completed fellowship training in Transfusion Medicine with significant experience in therapeutic apheresis and cellular collections for hematopoietic stem cell transplants and manufacturing cellular therapies.

Responsibilities

  • Educate pathology residents, Transfusion Medicine and other clinical fellows, and medical students.
  • Serve as the rotation director for the Transfusion Medicine resident rotations and medical student electives.
  • Act as the Small Group Course Director for the Transfusion Medicine component of the first-year medical student course, Mechanisms of Disease and Therapeutic Interventions.
  • Serve as a transfusion medicine attending, providing medical oversight for a high-complexity academic blood bank and transfusion service, apheresis unit, and hematopoietic stem cell laboratory.
