Responsibilities
- Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
- Handle ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team.
- Coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
- Maintain freshness standards by following proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation of products.
- Lead a team to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
- Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Produce team.
- Unload and sort store deliveries, operate and maintain produce equipment.
- Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and validate team compliance.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age with a basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
- Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
- Good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
- Perform general housekeeping in the department, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
- Adhere to all safety, health, weights, and measures regulations, including COOL, and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
- Lift, stack, and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up to 3 feet, for 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 20 feet, requiring a force of up to 85 pounds for up to 5 hours.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $29.15 per hour. Pay is determined based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
