Responsibilities

  • Establishes and promotes high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures for the effective operation of the school consistent with the philosophy, mission, values, and goals of Universal.
  • Ensures student safety, applies appropriate behavior modification techniques.
  • Provides daily management of all aspects of school operations.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or doctorate in Education Administration, Pennsylvania Principal Certification required.
  • Five (5) years relevant education experience, two (2) years administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an urban setting and/or knowledge/sensitivity to urban school issues preferred.
  • Documented experience using data-driven instruction to achieve significant student gains.

  • Provides leadership, assumes responsibility and displays strong commitment to meeting student performance goals.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Universal Companies charter school’s mission and success.
  • Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.

  • Maintains professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating with peers.
  • Abides by applicable Universal Companies policies and procedures and state and federal education regulations.
