About the role
The Assistant Principal at J. D. Smith Middle School is responsible for supporting the principal in managing the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring compliance with district policies and procedures, and providing leadership and guidance to staff.
Responsibilities
- Supports the principal in implementing and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- Maintains compliance with district policies and procedures.
- Manages student discipline and behavior issues.
- Works collaboratively with teachers and staff to improve student achievement and school climate.
- Assists in the development and implementation of school improvement plans.
- Oversees the school's budget and financial management.
- Coordinates with external agencies and community partners to enhance school programs and services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school administrative position.
- Valid Nevada teaching license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience in educational administration.
- Knowledge of state and federal education laws and regulations.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
