About the role

The Assistant Principal at J. D. Smith Middle School is responsible for supporting the principal in managing the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring compliance with district policies and procedures, and providing leadership and guidance to staff.

Responsibilities

• Supports the principal in implementing and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintains compliance with district policies and procedures.
• Manages student discipline and behavior issues.
• Works collaboratively with teachers and staff to improve student achievement and school climate.
• Assists in the development and implementation of school improvement plans.
• Oversees the school's budget and financial management.
• Coordinates with external agencies and community partners to enhance school programs and services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school administrative position.
• Valid Nevada teaching license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

Qualifications

• Experience in educational administration.
• Knowledge of state and federal education laws and regulations.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with budgeting and financial management.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
