About the Role
The Assistant Principal will assist the Principal in developing and maintaining an effective educational program consistent with State and Federal guidelines and the philosophy, policies, and goals of the School Board. Responsibilities include meeting and conferring with students, parents, faculty, and staff; maintaining records and files; and preparing reports.
Pay
Starting annual salary: $80,131 on the Administrative Salary Schedule (210 days). A one-time $5,000 hiring bonus may be provided to eligible new district employees, contingent on available and sustainable funds.

Requirements
- Master’s degree, specialist, or advanced degree in educational leadership, curriculum, or a related field
- Required certification credits mandated by the Michigan State Board of Education
- Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate preferred
- State of Michigan School Administrator Certification required (see note below)
Note: Per MCL 380.1246 subsection (3), administrators hired after January 4, 2010, must enroll in a certification program within six months and meet certification requirements within three years. Those without certification at hire must obtain an annual School Administrator Permit and demonstrate progress toward certification.
Qualifications
- Three years of successful certified teaching experience preferred
- Experience at the elementary or secondary level (based on vacancy/placement) is desirable
- Three years of successful administrative experience preferred
