About the role
We're seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to become an Assistant Principal at Integration Charter Schools (ICS). Play a pivotal role in our vibrant learning community!
Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership: Serve as the instructional leader, promoting high-quality teaching and learning. Utilize the Datawise framework to analyze student data and drive instructional decisions. Support teachers in developing and implementing effective instructional strategies. Facilitate professional development and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily school operations, ensuring a safe and orderly environment. Manage school logistics, including scheduling, facilities, and resource allocation. Assist the principal in maintaining compliance with school policies and procedures. Step in as acting principal in the absence of the principal.
Student, Staff, and Family Engagement: Set clear expectations for student behavior, academic performance, and character development. Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and families. Promote a positive school culture that aligns with ICS’s core values. Address and resolve conflicts in a fair and consistent manner with students and staff.
Community and Collaboration: Foster a sense of community and teamwork among students, staff, and families. Collaborate with stakeholders to support student achievement and well-being. Encourage and facilitate family involvement in school activities and decision-making processes.
Professional Learning Community: Lead and participate in professional learning communities to enhance instructional practices. Promote collaborative data inquiry and shared accountability among staff. Support the development of a reflective and growth-oriented school culture.
Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A firm belief in the Datawise approach and a commitment to data-driven decision making.
A thorough understanding of best practices for K-12 education.
A bachelor’s degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an educational setting, with a proven track record of instructional leadership.
A deep care and love for children, with a focus on their academic and social emotional development.
A strong commitment to the values of Integrity, Courage, Teamwork, Community, and Collaboration.
A thorough understanding of New York State Graduation requirements (where applicable).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
An ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
