Assistant Preschool Teacher

About the role

Assistant Teachers are needed to support the following age groups: Preschool and Pre-K.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Completion of early childhood education credentials or 6 credits worth of early childhood education courses or their equivalent
• Ability to pass all background checks
• Previous childcare experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children
• Meet physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, running, climbing stairs; ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
• 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
• 8:45 am – 5:45 pm

Pay

$15–$16.50 per hour, based on education and experience
