Wildflowers Preschool is a small, home-based preschool in SE Portland (Creston neighborhood, close to Woodstock) serving children ages 3–5. We have 16 children per day with 2 lead teachers and one assistant.
About the role
We are seeking an assistant preschool teacher to join our team. Our teaching philosophy blends Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and environmental education.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Willing to register with the Oregon Criminal History Registry prior to starting
- Must obtain Infant/Child CPR and first aid certification within the first 60 days
- Must obtain a food handlers card within the first 30 days
Responsibilities
- Assist children with daily routines (naps, bathroom, lunch)
- Engage in interactive play with children
- Set up and clean up from activities
Schedule
- Part-time, afternoon shift: 12:30–4:30 PM
- Start date: September
- Flexibility to work as a substitute is ideal
Professional Development
If hired, you will be expected to complete 24 hours of paid continuing education each year.
