Overview of Role + Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Oversee project teams from inception to turnover, ensuring alignment with client objectives and FCC standards.
- Estimation & Cost Trends: Stay updated on cost trends, material lead times, and project components to provide precise and competitive estimates.
- Process & Consistency: Implement FCC preconstruction standards, including kickoff meetings, proposal delivery, and branding.
- Mentoring & Development: Guide and develop team members, supporting their growth in technical and leadership competencies.
- Understanding Delivery Models: Understand the appropriate instances to utilize specific delivery models and be aware of the associated risks and opportunities tied to each model.
- Orchestrate Risk Mitigation: Strategically employ allowances, clarifications, and exclusions to mitigate ambiguously defined scopes and integrate these measures into contractual agreements.
- Preconstruction Scheduling: Understand the preconstruction timeline and key milestone dates, generating a project schedule with accurate logic and refining the critical path.
- Ability to Complete an Estimate: Establish a methodology for accuracy in estimates and implement quality control measures, articulating cost information to clients and gathering relevant market data.
- Community Involvement: Build your network by identifying professional organizations and philanthropic organizations that align with your interests.
- Mature Decision Making: Make sound and informed decisions that are defensible within the FCC culture, considering urgency and timeliness, and anticipating possible outcomes.
- Field Leadership: Influence and inspire others, reaching agreements and compromises that benefit all parties involved, and working effectively with diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications + Preferred Experience
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in preconstruction or related fields, with a focus on team management.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of preconstruction technologies (Destini Estimator, Building Connected).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
