About the role
The Department of Physical Therapy at Hunter College, The City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position (Assistant or Associate) to begin in August 2026. The position is part of the Hunter College School of Health Professions, located in a newly renovated space on the upper east side of Manhattan.
Responsibilities
- Teach in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, covering adult neurologic physical therapy
- Engage in scholarly activities and research
- Participate in inter-professional teaching opportunities
- Advocate for the profession through active clinical practice and involvement in professional organizations
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent
- At least 5 years of clinical experience in adult neurologic physical therapy
- Active PT license in the US, at the time of hire, and eligibility for licensure in New York State
Qualifications
- Expertise in adult neurological physical therapy
- Demonstrated scholarship or achievement
- Ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution
Preferred Qualifications
- Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist
- PhD, EdD, DSc or equivalent
- A record of scholarly activity and an established research agenda
- History of active participation in the American Physical Therapy Association and other professional leadership experiences
Pay
Salary commensurate with experience. Assistant Professor up to $109,025 or Associate Professor up to $129,041 as per the PSC contract.
Schedule
This is a 9-month appointment with summers off for scholarly activities, paid adjunct teaching, and personal time off.
