Assistant Operator

About the role
The Assistant Operator position at Mitsubishi Chemical Methacrylates is dedicated to excellence, continuous improvement, and sustainable business results. The role involves operating and maintaining equipment, performing safety checks, and ensuring compliance with health and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Know systems, components, processes, and operations in the unit area
- Prepare for startup, operation, shutdown, and emergency shutdown
- Load and unload Tank Cars with Monomer and ACH
- Perform pressure tests on tank wagons and tank cars
- Lance and ream boiler tubes, keep equipment neat, and ensure safety
- Perform routine checks around equipment, pumps, instruments, etc.
- Work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
- Minimum high school education or GED
- Associates degree in Process Operating Technology or equivalent
- At least 3+ years of operating experience in chemical plant environments
- Must achieve an acceptable score on WorkKeys Assessments in Applied Math, Applied Technology, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Pay
The salary for this position is $28.17 per hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, and market and business considerations may influence the base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
Schedule
Hours are typically 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
