Assistant Nurse Manager - Telemetry Center

Job Summary

The Assistant Nursing Manager is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for supervising patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations. This position oversees daily operations, ensures a safe and therapeutic unit environment, and supports leadership in fostering excellence and professional development.

Job Responsibilities

• Adjusts unit staffing patterns based on care requirements, patient census, and staffing resources.
• Manages and develops colleagues through performance feedback, reviews, promotions, salary recommendations, corrective action, and separations.
• Teaches, coaches, and mentors colleagues to encourage their professional growth and development.
• Manages staffing schedules and payroll, addressing attendance issues.
• Promotes compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory body standards through consistent rounding, tracers, and audits.
• Assists nursing leadership in investigating and reviewing patient concerns, KPIs, colleague health exposures, and compliance issues.
• Communicates department/leadership decisions and policies to colleagues.
• Cascades information from leadership to the clinical team.
• Participates on department and hospital committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) existing incumbents must obtain BSN within 3 years of this date, Master’s degree preferred.
• 2 years of acute care nursing experience required.
• At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• CT Registered Nurse License.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) provider from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Other certifications may be required by specialty.
