About the role

The Assistant Nursing Manager at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is responsible for overseeing patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations. This position supervises a work group to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient and family-centered care, aligning with the hospital's strategic plan and departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a work group to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient and family-centered care
• Collaborate with functional leadership to oversee daily operations of the assigned department
• Off-shift and weekend supervision of nursing and non-licensed staff
• Manage resources, quality improvement, payroll, and colleague schedules
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic unit environment, including assisting as needed
• Support leadership in fostering and meeting standards of excellence and professional development
• Participate in and lead Performance Improvement work in the assigned department

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; MSN preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
• Registered Nurse licensure in the State of CT
• Certified BLS provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Certification in a specialty area required within 3 years of start date in position or March 1, 2024 if already in position

Qualifications
