Assistant Nurse Manager – Postpartum

Responsibilities

• Support the nurse manager by providing clinical supervision and unit coordination
• Interview, hire, and train staff
• Make personnel action recommendations
• Provide direction and support to the unit staff
• Initiate nursing care plans and evaluate patient progress
• Facilitate the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs
• Aid in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
• Serve as a liaison between the manager, staff, and other areas within the organization
• Resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services
• Prepare and oversee schedules to ensure adequate coverage
• Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies, and research initiatives
• Assist with providing continuing education and in-service educational programs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing
• RN license in Ohio
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• Completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics
• Two years of recent clinical nurse experience in mother/baby or OB setting
• Strong clinical knowledge and skills
• Good oral, written, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills

Qualifications

• Leadership/supervisory experience preferred
• Physical requirements: Full range of body motion, handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, working under stressful conditions, exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids, medium work physical demand
• Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required

Pay

Pay Range: Minimum Annual Salary: $76,540.00 Maximum Annual Salary: $116,747.50
