Assistant Nurse Manager
Job Summary
The Assistant Nurse Manager oversees the daily operations of assigned nursing area(s) to facilitate and deliver comprehensive quality nursing care. They prioritize tasks for nursing staff, resolve staffing issues and problems, assist with goals, planning, customer service, standards, certification and accreditation, administrative and budget management, personnel resource management, communication, and quality activities. They ensure adherence to hospital or department and university policies and nursing policies, procedures, standards, and practices. The Assistant Nurse Manager works off-shift in the inpatient setting; in other areas, the ANM shift is based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

- Ensures compliance with hospital, department, and university policies and nursing policies, procedures, standards, and practices
Requirements
- NYS Licensed/Registered (or eligible) RN
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Nursing
- Two years of post-licensure acute care RN experience (preferably in specialty area)
- CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment
Qualifications
- Nursing Leadership certification and prior leadership experience are preferred
- Hematology/Oncology experience is highly preferred
Skills
Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
