Position Summary
The Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) provides clinical leadership and operational support to the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Working alongside the Nurse Manager, this role helps oversee daily nursing operations, staff development, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration while promoting Pyramid Healthcare's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid in creating weekly nursing schedules and staff assignments.
- Coordinate required nursing education, training, and competency completion.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retaining nursing staff.
- Support employee performance evaluations and professional development.
- Afford oversight of nursing operations for detoxification and inpatient units.
- Ensure compliance with CARF, and other regulatory requirements.
- Engage in charge nurse, nursing, and interdisciplinary meetings.
- Communicate patient care concerns and staffing issues to the Nurse Manager.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration across all shifts and departments.
- Provide on-call leadership coverage as needed.
- Afford coordination of monthly medical reports, chart audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support nursing staff during high-volume or high-acuity shifts.
- Coordinate with pharmacy partners to ensure timely and cost-effective medication management.
- Maintain regular communication with medical providers and the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, or inpatient services strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Familiarity with CARF, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- Strong understanding of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork while supporting a patient-centered approach to care.
