About the role
The Assistant Nurse Manager oversees clinical patient care for nursing and medical assistants, collaborating with various care teams to improve clinical outcomes and enhance cost-effectiveness. They support staff education, onboarding, and training, and may also serve as a clinical leader.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the patient's care team to optimize clinical outcomes
- Performs Nurse Manager duties in absence of the Nurse Manager
- Supervises assigned staff, establishes work assignments, reviews timecards, approves time off requests, conducts performance evaluations, monitors orientation, and coaches and counsels staff
- Maintains compliance with health center equipment needs, infection control standards, CLIA and Radiology regulations, Standing Delegation Orders, and emergency protocols
- Maintains compliance with standards of care for on-site treatments and procedures, administers medications, ensures timely and quality clinical workflows, and addresses patient issues
- Ensures daily patient care huddles are conducted, approves payroll, and completes quality assurance checklists
- Supports organizational initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture and participates in continuous quality improvement projects
- Participates in hiring processes, provides resources to clinical and non-clinical team members, responds to clinic codes, and assists with in-basket management, refilling medications, rooming, dismissing, and triaging patients
- Develops departmental protocols, policies, and procedures and supports nursing leadership with initiatives, goals, programs, and organizational change efforts

- High degree of knowledge and competency in the practice of nursing and documentation requirements
- High level of problem-solving skills to better serve patients and staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong commitment to quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Strong application of Microsoft Office and electronic health records
Skills
- Knowledge of Joint Commission standards, HIPAA regulations, and the Quadruple Aim
- Experience in an ambulatory clinic setting with specialty services, care of Cardiology, GI, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Podiatry, or Neurology patients, and ability to start and maintain IV infusions
- Ability to recognize cardiac rhythms and/or cardiac diagnostic testing experience
- Experience with Epic
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Two years supervisory experience working in a healthcare environment
- One year experience in an ambulatory clinic setting with Specialty services
- One year nursing experience in the care of Cardiology, GI, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Podiatry, or Neurology patients in an ambulatory clinic and/or hospital setting

Pay
$106,000 - $125,000 annually
