Assistant Nurse Instructor - LPN

About the role

The Eastern Monroe Career Center is seeking a full-time, tenure track assistant teacher for their Health Careers program starting in September 2026. The position offers a salary range of $49,470 - $79,820 per school year, dependent upon education, experience, and contract.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction for high school students in a career and technical education program in Health Careers and prepare students for the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) exam.
• Assist with overseeing all labs that provide high school students with hands-on, practical experience in CNA.
• Assist with the implementation of curriculum according to New York State secondary school standards and New York State Department of Health (DOH).
• Arrange for speakers, field trips, community service and shadowing experiences for students.
• Work in a team environment that fosters the philosophy of collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.

Qualifications

• NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required.
• Minimum of two years of LPN experience, one of which must be working in a nursing home or long-term care facility.
• Mandatory: Must have valid NYS Teaching Assistant certification or willingness to complete.
