About the role

DLL Landscaping & Tree Service is a solutions-based company delivering comprehensive commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, total tree care services, and snow and ice management throughout Central Ohio. The position of Assistant Mowing Production Manager is an essential part of the operation of DLL. While this position is considered a leadership position, it also requires hands-on work and is a customer service position because of interactions with our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the productivity of each team member
  • Give job-specific directions to their team and follow-up to ensure all jobs are completed to company standards and customer expectations
  • Teach, manage, direct and mentor each member assigned to their crew. Give quality and timely feedback on work performed
  • Train Crew on proper use of all company equipment. This includes safe usage as well as methods to reduce wear and tear and thus avoid unnecessary maintenance and repairs
  • Training and certification of new hires and experienced Crew members
  • Answer questions of the Crew regarding any work being done
  • Communicate workload changes to Crew to ensure productivity on all shifts
  • Conduct site inspections daily to ensure proper job completion and customer satisfaction
  • Commit daily work habits to ensure a safe working environment for self and their crew
  • Complete Daily Truck Safety Inspection and ensure employee safety gear is available in vehicle prior to leaving the shop for customer work sites.
  • Understand and commit to DLL’s pledge to provide quality work the first time to all customers
  • Own and respond to all customer concerns/issues in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Leader whose self-control is equal to all emergencies
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of salt, sand and magnesium for treating properties
  • Provide proper training for snow removal techniques of plows, spreaders backhoes and walk behinds for unskilled staff
  • Ensure adherence to Company Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance Program
  • Ensure all team members record time and audit punches daily

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is a minimum requirement.
  • A valid Ohio Driver’s License and be insurable by DLL’s vehicle insurance provider.
  • 2 plus years of experience in all aspects of landscaping/mowing
  • Prior leadership and management experience is a plus
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • Ability to stand and/or walk long distances and work continuously for up to 2 hours at one time to complete tasks, assist customers and other employees
  • Ability to work in severe temperatures for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift moderate to heavy objects up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Dexterity of hands to perform the tasks required of the position
  • Sight in order to be aware of hazards and dangers found in the nature of the work.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule to ensure customer satisfaction/job completion including evenings, weekends, holidays and longer shifts
  • Wear designated company uniform at all times
  • Wear weather-appropriate clothing including boots and long pants.
  • Ensure proper hydration and nutrition during shift
  • Hold Crew accountable for wearing company designated attire during all shifts

  • Train personnel related to tasks required, proper equipment use, safety protocol, company, and customer expectations
  • Motivate, encourage, train and mentor their Crew members
  • Operate a skid, trucks, trailers, and other power equipment

Pay

$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule

Varying schedule to ensure customer satisfaction/job completion including evenings, weekends, holidays and longer shifts
