Assistant Moving Center Manager

Responsibilities

• Run daily operations of the center in the General Manager’s absence.
• Make moment-to-moment decisions to allocate time and resources effectively.
• Manage and assign team members to ensure customers receive an excellent first impression and high-quality service.
• Perform miscellaneous duties such as installing hitches and brake controllers.
• Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University.

Requirements

• Willingness to get forklift certified.
• Completion of the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program.
• Willingness to install hitches.
• 30-60 day probationary period.
• Weekend availability is a must.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
• Leadership experience in any form.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts.

Work Environment

The role involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Protective clothing or gear (e.g., masks, goggles, gloves, or shields) may be required.

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion, including long periods both indoors and outdoors while stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.

Pay

Pay range: $18–$22 per hour, based on experience.
