Assistant Merchandiser
About the role
As an Assistant Merchandiser, you will support the development and execution of product and merchandising strategies for a specific Jostens product category such as class jewelry, graduation products, and announcements. You will work closely with a Senior Product Manager to analyze sales data, monitor market trends, and assist in the development and launch of merchandise and product lines. You will collaborate with sourcing, manufacturing, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful product launches and strong product line performance.
Responsibilities
- Run and analyze sales reporting
- Generate reports on product sales performance and provide insights on category trends and opportunities
- Evaluate product performance
- Assist in reviewing SKU performance, product assortment effectiveness, and category profitability
- Monitor product portfolios
- Help manage product assortments and recommend updates to improve product line performance
- Support product development execution
- Partner with sourcing and manufacturing teams to help manage product specifications, timelines, and vendor submissions
- Lead select project initiatives
- Provide project management support for product development and marketing initiatives across channels
- Support the sales organization
- Assist with product-related inquiries, product details, and issue resolution to support field teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally
- Work closely with marketing, sales, sourcing, operations, finance, and manufacturing teams to bring new consumer products to market
Requirements
You are curious, analytical, and excited about bringing announcements, diploma, jewelry, and regalia products to life. You have a BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Product Development, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with 1–2 years of experience supporting physical product development, merchandising, or product line management. You have exposure to new product, category, or business development from concept through launch. You have understanding of product life cycles and the marketing mix (4P’s), familiarity with online and offline marketing strategies, including catalog, retail, and digital channels, and a working knowledge of MS Access and PowerPoint. You have strong analytical and project management skills, strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation abilities, resourcefulness, and an inclusive mindset.
Qualifications
You have a diploma and love working on-site in Minneapolis Headquarters. You are passionate about consumer products, merchandising, and product line management within a manufacturing and retail environment. You are comfortable with up to 5% overnight travel.
Skills
You have technical proficiency in desktop publishing, analytical and project management skills, collaboration and communication skills, and resourcefulness. You have an inclusive mindset and are eager to learn and grow.

We also provide tuition reimbursement after 6 months of service. We believe in pay transparency and offer a salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 with annual bonus eligibility.

We offer a hybrid schedule with on-site work 3 days a week.
