About the Role

Belmont Abbey College, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Conference Carolinas, seeks an Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach to support all aspects of an established collegiate men’s lacrosse program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruiting plan for the program in compliance with NCAA and Conference Carolinas rules and regulations.
  • Support practice and game plan development.
  • Monitor academic progress toward a degree for student-athletes.
  • Manage budgeting and scheduling.
  • Support the head coach in day-to-day duties and team operations.
  • Assist student-athletes and coaches with community service projects.
  • Adhere to all rules, guidelines, and principles set forth by the NCAA, Conference Carolinas, and Belmont Abbey College.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • Four years of collegiate playing experience (required).
  • Minimum of one year of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level.
  • Demonstrated vision for recruiting student-athletes who align with the institution’s mission and character as a distinctively Catholic and Benedictine college.
  • Wholehearted embrace of the College’s mission to educate students in the liberal arts and sciences “so that in all things God may be glorified.”
  • Commitment to fostering the development of mind, body, and spirit in students, staff, and the greater community in support of the College’s Catholic and Benedictine identity.
  • Sincere appreciation and acceptance of the Catholic approach to education and understanding of Ex Corde Ecclesiae (Pope Saint John Paul II).
