Assistant Massage Therapist

About the role

The Assistant Massage Therapist provides high level massage services for Pacers’ players and coaches. This role will communicate with and assist training staff to ensure massage therapy is efficient and effective. In addition, this position will support team staff with other duties as assigned to help the team operate in an efficient and effective way on and off the road.

Responsibilities

• Team massage therapist provides high level massage services for Pacers’ players and coaches.
• Maintain clean work environment
• Communicate with the lead therapist and training staff regarding player health issues to ensure efficient and effective massage therapy.
• Cook with Lead Massage Therapist regarding budget and supplies for massage therapy.
• Aid team staff with baggage handling during road trips
• Communicate daily with Lead Therapist regarding scheduling massage according to player seniority
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the Lead Massage Therapist, Senior Director Medical Operations/Head Athletic Trainer, coaching staff and team management.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Licensed Massage Therapist, minimum 3 years' experience in massage therapy of athletes.
• Ability to be licensed in the state of Indiana.
• Preferred qualifications: A minimum of a level one FST certification from Stretch to Win. A cupping and IASTM course.

• The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.
• The noise level in the Fieldhouse/game environment is usually loud.
• The stress level may become high during certain times of the year.
